Global Kratom Coalition Applauds Congressional Letter to FDA Expressing Concerns Over Novel Unapproved Drug '7' Being Fraudulently Marketed as Natural Kratom, a Dietary Ingredient

The Global Kratom Coalition applauds the recent letter sent by U.S. Rep. Rich McCormick (R-GA) and Rep. Jack Bergman (R-MI) to U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Commissioner Dr. Robert Califf expressing concern over the proliferation of isolated 7-hydroxymitragynine products, otherwise known as “7”, in the marketplace. The letter pointedly asks for information about the measures the FDA is taking to protect consumers from potentially harmful, mislabeled 7 products. The letter also distinguishes between 7 products and natural leaf kratom products that have almost undetectable amounts of 7-hydroxymitragynine. See the accompanying PDF.
