Ohio Residents Must Speak Out
Against Kratom Ban
January 28 2026 Deadline
The Global Kratom Coalition is alerting Ohio advocates that the state Board of Pharmacy is accepting public comment on its kratom ban before the January 28, 2026 deadline.
This is your opportunity to speak out against a proposed rule (4729:9-1-01.2) that would make mitragynine a Schedule I substance — effectively banning all natural kratom leaf products.
The Board of Pharmacy's misguided approach ignores the science and the fact that the FDA itself (in its July 29, 2025 press conference) made clear that it is recommending the scheduling of concentrated synthetic 7-hydroxymitragynine (7-OH) — NOT natural kratom leaf, which has been consumed for centuries.
The proposed rule in Ohio would also have significant unintended economic consequences, particularly for businesses that operate legally, transparently, and in compliance with state and local laws.
Take action by submitting a public comment to the Board of Pharmacy — and defend the rights of 1 million Ohio residents who consume natural kratom leaf products.
With your help, we can preserve regulated, responsible, adult access to natural leaf for all Ohioans.
Object now to the proposed rule.
